How to Reach Sixty in Under Four Seconds in the 2018 Ford Mustang GT

As autumn approaches and we near the arrival of the 2018 Mustang GT, the folks over at Ford are releasing the most enticing tidbits about the updated pony car. Among them is the power numbers for the Coyote V8, and the equipment you’ll need if you want your Mustang to hit sixty in under four seconds.

Do you want it? We don’t blame you. But to get it, you’ll have to sacrifice the standard manual for the ten-speed automatic transmission for the fastest-possible shifting, and the GT Performance Package. With this, you can toggle on Drag Strip mode, enabling the full bore of the V8’s 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque right to the red-line, and a sprint time under four seconds. The same package also adds a Torsen differential, rear sway bars, and Brembo brakes. Those pining for the GT350 also have good news: its MagneRide Damping System is also available, with sensor-adjusted independent suspension at all four corners. Premium models also get the Shaker Pro Audio package with the 12-inch LCD instrument cluster bundled in.

There’s but a few short weeks between you and the new Mustang GT. If you already have a configuration in mind, contact our Ford dealership in Matteson, IL. That way, we can make sure we have it when the models start arriving in the autumn.
